Our Busy, Crazy (Scary) Weekend

On Thursday, Justin reffed a couple basketball games in the afternoon, which I watched, and we had "Grad Night" on campus. When we got home from that, we went to bed (around 9:30) so we could get up at 11:00 to go see Twilight at midnight. By the time we got home from that and went to sleep, it was 3 in the morning. I got up at 5 to go to work... Needless to say, I was very tired on Friday.

I worked all day and was having a ton of Braxton Hicks. I started counting and timing around 3:00 and they were every five minutes like clockwork for a couple hours. Because I work in NICU/Postpartum, I have the luxury of having my OB doc close at hand. He told me to take 2 Advil, go home, drink tons of water and rest. If they weren't gone or at least slowing down significantly in a couple more hours, I was supposed to come back. Well, I followed "orders" and after three hours they were still about every 6 or 7 minutes, so I took myself back to the hospital (Justin was an hour out of town reffing basketball games). They hooked me up to monitors and had me do a urinalysis. Aparently, I was ridiculously dehydrated so they started an IV and ran in a bag of fluid. 10 or 15 minutes after the IV started, the contractions were all but gone. Justin got to the hospital for about the last 10 minutes before they sent me home. All is well now, (Carrie is moving and growing like crazy) and I've been drinking a lot more water this weekend.

On Saturday morning, I drove to Orem for my baby shower there. I had a lot of friends from high school come and some of the local relatives. I (we) got a lot of great stuff and it was so exciting to pack 2 more boxes yesterday and write "Carrie" on them. Thanks Marissa (and friends) for putting it together!

One Month and Counting...

That's right, one month from today we will be on our way to Arizona!! Yeah!! Graduation is 4 weeks from tomorrow and we are getting really excited! I've started deep cleaning the apartment - like scrubbing (literally) the bathroom floor. It took me two days to do cuz I make sure I take plenty of breaks. It hurts my legs to sit on the floor for so long!

Today I had my first day as a substitute teacher. I majorly lucked out because the teacher I subbed for has a student teacher who does everything. So I got paid to sit in the back of the classroom and "supervise". I did walk around and help kids with their worksheets, so I earned my meager pay for the day. :)

Justin has had a mini-phone interview with sales people from the Arizona Diamondbacks, so we're really hoping a bigger more formal interview (and eventually a job) will come. Everybody pray. The guy he talked to today complimented Justin on his ability to use several contacts to get his resume into the right hands and his name known a little bit in their department, so that's huge. Hopefully they are impressed enough to hire him :)

Growing Girl(s)

Don't worry, there is only one baby, but I went to type "growing girl" in the title and realized, duh, we're both growing, hence the plural. Anyways...

We had a doctor's appointment today and she is still measuring a week ahead. By dates I'm 28 weeks, but she measured 29 today. As far as the doctor could tell by squishing my belly around, she is straight up and down, head down. Whew! That makes for a very happy mommy. (Except for when it comes to kicking my ribs) That is her new favorite activity by the way - when I slouch a little in my chair she gives me a nice jab in the ribs, her polite way of saying "Excuse me mom, but you're squishing me, could you sit up a little straighter?" I guess I'll try. :)
