Bored in Rexburg and Internship (for real)

This past week or two since Justin's been out of school we've been a little bored around here. We went to Riot Zone (mini-golf and little carnival rides etc.), to the zoo (see the picture?) and to see "Dark Knight". It seems like we were more bored than that sounds, but anyways, onto the bigger news.

Justin has an internship for real this time! He had an interview today with the general manager of the mall in Idaho Falls, and the guy said Justin can start whenever he wants! (Actually, he had to come home and apply online first, but then he can start) Yes... he had an interview before he applied. The internship is in general business management so he'll be able to get experience in all areas instead of only marketing like the other opportunity we had been hoping for. Hopefully, this one will be good for us all around. We're very excited!

Everything else is going great with the baby and us around here!

Baby's Heartbeat! (and Internship?)

We had another appointment this morning and got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time : ) Everything looks great and we're really excited! Sorry about the pink paper outfit...

Summer Semester is finally over for Justin and he doesn't go back to school until September. He's excited he survived this 15 credit semester and might have gotten a 3.0. He interviewed Thursday for an internship at Madison Memorial (the same hospital I work at) in their PR department. The hospital has recently opened a new addition that doubled the hospital size and they need help with marketing. If he gets the spot, it will start next week, give him something to do over the 7 week break and continue through the Fall Semester. This would be amazing because then he would truly graduate in December! Hallelujah! Everyone cross your fingers and pray for us!

I've been tagged!!

K wow, I was tagged by Elise over two weeks ago and I didn't notice... I was reading through hers thinking, maybe I'll just pretend someone tagged me, this looks like fun to fill out. Here goes.

10 Years Ago: Hmm... the summer of 1998... I was 10 and pretty much living in the swimming pool. I was actually tan just because I spent so much time outside (I'm as white as a ghost having lived in Rexburg the last 3 years). Probably the most eventful thing that summer was breaking my hand. It was Brittnee Scott's 11th birthday party and we had a sleepover. As we were running around being goofy girls, the wall reached out and smacked into my poor innocent hand. Ok... my hand hit the wall as we were passing, but still, it was not intentional. I didn't want to go home, so I slept with an ice pack on it and stayed the night. And a cast didn't stop me from swimming either. I still went every day!

5 Years Ago: I was 15, but lied about my age to get into the older kid group at EFY with my friends (horrible isn't it? lying to the church). I had my drivers permit and drove the carpool of kids to summer school when it was my dad's turn to drive. I had braces, and no dating prospects, but I was definitely having fun!

5 Months Ago: It was February, and freezing in Rexburg. I had just started working as an RN and was waking up at 5:00 to drive to work in the snow and ice. Because I work 12 hour shifts, it was dark when I went to work, and it was already dark when I went home. Yuck! It was valentines month though, so that was good. I was also very into my ward crocheting group. I'm still working on the baby blanket I started when Justin and I got engaged 2 1/2 years ago, and it's still not done. I'm just slow. I have a deadline now, so hopefully I'll finish it in time.

5 Things on My To-Do List:
1. Make a trip to Provo
2. Pre-order Breaking Dawn so I can actually get a copy when it comes out
3. Fold the laundry that's still in the dryer. oops...
4. Get a walking buddy or do something so I don't always feel like I'm about to fall asleep on the couch.
5. Finish crocheting that baby blanket!!

5 Snacks:
1. cold cereal
2. gummi peach rings
3. Koolaid (it really can be a snack)
4. quaker chewy bars
5. fruit cocktail

5 Billionaire Things:
1. Pay off the few student loans, and pay in advance all tuition left.
2. Buy Justin a truck. (the poor guy says "men drive trucks")
3. Go on a cruise ...or two or three...
4. Buy a dream home somewhere warm so I never have to move again.
5. Put the rest in savings or invest etc... after a new wardobe shopping spree

5 Places I have Lived:
1. Provo, Utah
2. Knoxville, Tennessee
3. Roy, Utah
4. Mesa, Arizona
5. Rexburg, Idaho

5 Things You Might Not Know About Me:
1. I never went to Kindergarten, I skipped it.
2. I won a (tiny) talent scholarship for playing the piano in Gilbert's Junior Miss
3. I marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2004 with my high school marching band (I was in colorguard)
4. My first semester of college my declared major was Mechanical Engineering
5. I broke my foot by hitting it on the bottom of a 9ft deep swimming pool

5 People I Tag:
Coleen, Alysha, Brooke, Clarissa, Jen

"Figgy"

Well, we've reached the stage where the baby is the size of a fig (about 2"), hence the post title "figgy" (Remember the good ol' days Will?) I have another doctors appointment in a couple weeks and will write after that too. I've been getting pestered for being such a slack blog keeper-upper, so here's an update!

I don't really feel sick most of the time because Unisom is the best thing in the world! Mostly I just feel really really tired... all day long. A few nights ago I fell into bed and told the baby "I hope you're growing big and strong cuz you're draining me right now!" Justin thought it was funny. (Just what I said, not the fact that I feel like a zombie)

As mentioned in a previous post, Justin reads up on my pregnancy e-mails and takes his "dad" jobs very seriously. A few days ago, he pulled a hot dog out of the fridge for lunch. I said "Oh that looks good" and he was very stern about saying "No, your pregnancy books say you're not supposed to eat stuff like this, it's not good for you". I thought I was going to have to tackle him for it. Fortunately, his stern-ness was apparently all for show and after a couple minutes he gave in and said "Fine... you can have one, I already got one out for you anyways". And then today, he parked in the last space in the grocery store parking lot and said "Walking is good exercise, it's good for the baby", so we got to walk the length of the parking lot in the heat.

I'm glad he's taking such good care of me (us). He's going to be a great dad. I just hope it doesn't eventually get to the point where I do have to tackle him for food. : )

Say "Hello" to Baby Greer!

Well, our first doctor's appointment has come and gone and everything looks good! I'm 8 weeks along and the baby (just one) looks great. (Justin thinks it looks like a frog.) My official due date is January 29th, so we get to spend another winter in freezing Rexburg. I guess somehow we'll survive the snow. At least I won't have to be huge and pregnant during the summer heat : )

As expected, I jinxed myself in my last post by saying I hadn't thrown up yet. Last week was not fun at all. I threw up quite a lot, but luckily, my mom reminded me about Unisom. I made Justin go buy some this past Sunday night and it's been my best friend the last few days! I'm feeling much better as far as nausea and throwing up go, but I'm still really really tired... Justin is a great help to me with everything and is taking his job as "Dad" very seriously making sure I'm eating healthy food and have snacks handy etc. It's adorable.

Baby update

I know I said I'd write more to update today so here goes. I don't actually have a doctor's appointment until the 19th, so really after that I'll have more to say about the baby (who we are lovingly calling "Peanut" for now). For example, the due date... We think it's sometime at the beginning of February but we're not really sure.

I've had a few people ask how I'm feeling and until yesterday I was feeling fabulous! I haven't thrown up yet but yesterday at work I had to keep crackers in my pocket all day to avoid it. Nausea is no fun. It's not as bad today so that's nice. Anyways, we're really excited and will keep everyone up to date on things!

--Just a random side note, I'm so excited to see Justin be a dad : ) After he kissed me goodbye this morning, he kissed Peanut goodbye too. I loved it!

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd write really quick and let it be known to the world that we're going to have a baby! I know I'm going to disappoint some of you for writing such a short little note, but I've got to run right now. I'm planning on going to the doctor on Tuesday the 3rd. I'll write more after that to update everyone : )
