4 month stats

Carrie had her 4 month check up today:

weight: 11 lbs 8 oz, 10th percentile
height: 24 inches, 50th percentile

She also got her second round of shots and did great. She only cried for about 10 seconds after they were done. Then she drank about an ounce from the bottle I had ready and fell asleep in my arms before we even got out to the car. What a trooper :)

Justin found the camera cord!

Yeah, I can post pictures now! Of course the camera cord was "in plain sight" sitting in a pile of cable and internet cords in the living room. Our apartment is slowly coming together. We actually painted Carrie's room yesterday (thanks mom and dad). I'll get a picture of it as soon as we get all the furniture out of the middle of the room. :)

So here's catching up on the pictures from the last few weeks.
Carrie likes to turn sideways in her crib. I thought this picture was funny with her dress spread everywhere.

A couple weeks ago Carrie got to visit a pediatric Cardiologist to check out a little murmur her regular doctor found (actually very common in babies). Here she's hooked up to the EKG machine. Everything looked great, the doc said her murmur is very very faint and should resolve itself. We have a follow-up in a year.

I was trying out a new hair-do. A headband with little curls all over. Mostly I just love the smile. She's sooo happy. She looks like this most of the time - huge grin on her face. And she laughs at the silliest things. Today after dinner my brothers were throwing a little monkey stuffed animal back and forth across the room and she thought it was the most hilarious thing - especially when they made it do flips. :)

This is her new favorite thing. We call it a lot of things. Her bear, blankie, woobie... Whatever. The point is she loves to hold it when she goes to sleep. We'll lay her down and give it to her, she cuddles right up to it, snuggles it to her cheek and she's out. It's magic. We need to get 1 or 2 more in case something happens to this one. :)

Carrie and Rooster. They're the exact same size! I love how they're both looking right at me and playing footsie.
And finally, this was my attempt at a "cool" birthday cake. It was for my friend/might as well be little brother. It's supposed to be a high-top sneaker stepping in mud... Whatever...
.
Justin's doing great with his sales and I've been able to pick up a few more shifts. Carrie is getting much better at naps and is consistantly sleeping 12 hours at night. :) She has discovered her voice and starting a couple days ago has been "screaming" non-stop. It's happy screaming, just while playing with toys and entertaining herself, but it's starting to get a little annoying in an adorable way :) I'll try to be better at keeping updated.

Catching up a little

Agghhh! This post won't be nearly as good a quality as I want it to be because I'm going to try to catch up on the last few weeks without writing a novel. A LOT has happened. First, here's a couple videos. They're from my phone, so the quality isn't the best. I would post more pictures too, but I have temporarily lost my camera cord to upload the pics to my computer. I'll find it soon.

The best tummy time she's ever had. She wasn't shoving her face into the ground screaming :)

I'm so glad I caught this on camera. She started playing with the toys with her feet!!

Now to the news -- First of all, Justin got two jobs - yeah!! Both are paid only on commision, so that kind of stinks, but hey, a job's a job.

One of them he is a sales agent for Freedom Team Financial. They help people modify their home loans. There's a lot more stuff involved obviously, but I don't exacty know what it all is.

The other job (which is occupying all of his time) is door-to-door pest control sales in the hot, yucky Arizona aternoon heat. *By the way, he's out now and it's currently 98 degrees, or so my computer says... it probably feels a lot hotter than that*

I have picked up a couple shifts next week at a doctor's office and in the last couple weeks I've spent a few days tutoring a girl for 7th grade math. It's been good to be able to bring in a little extra money. *Plug for myself- does anyone need a trained, experienced math tutor or piano teacher? CALL ME!! 480-861-1986*

Our anniversary was on the 2nd :) 3 years already?! It's crazy, but it's been great so far! Compared to our weekend trip to Jackson, Wyoming last year for our anniversary, we grossly undercelebrated this year. We went to the dollar theater at the mall and then the food court for dinner. Our entire date cost $18. I actually am pretty proud of it because we still enjoyed being together and remembering the last fabulous 3 years!

On the 5th we moved into a new apartment! We now have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom all to ourselves :) Carrie has moved up from our closet to a whole bedroom with a closet of her own! It's still a mess, and it's hard for me to get stuff done, especially since Justin works until around 9 at night and every Saturday. Slowly, it's getting organized.

Carrie is learning how to take naps and isn't loving it. For example, yesterday she went down at 9, woke up at 9:30, 10, 10:15 and 11. Each time she woke up, all it took was me going in, giving her binky back and she was right back asleep. So she really got the whole 2 hours of nap, but did it in 4 spurts. She's getting better everyday though. She's been sleeping 11 hours at night for weeks. It's awesome! We're so spoiled!

I'll probably remember something that I wanted to say later, but that's all for now. So much for not writing a novel ;)

Sorry For the Slacking

I'm sorry it's been a while, I'd really like to post at least once a week... We moved this last week, our house is a mess (filled with still-packed boxes), Justin got a job that keeps him working til 9:30 every night, and we're trying to get Carrie into a better napping schedule... I'll write more and post pictures when my life is a little more sane. I promise. :)

Pierced Ears!!

Carrie is 3 months old now and got her ears pierced on Friday!

Sitting in the ear-piercing chair

Getting dots to mark the place for the earrings. Smiling away at Grandma. Poor girl doesn't know what comes next...

Our beautiful princess. As you can see, she survived the ear-piercing experience :)

Laughing at me for making a game of trying to "pull" her hands out of her mouth

Trying to eat her hands, a round-the-clock activity
.
Still no luck with the job searching for Justin, and I haven't been called in to work any hours this week. We are blessed and somehow we still seem to be able to pay for everything. Keep up the prayers. We really appreciate them :)

Easter Trip to New Mexico

Sorry it's been so long since I posted! It's been on my to-do list for almost a week. As you might imagine, life is pretty busy around here. Last Monday (during Easter week), we went to the temple visitors center with some non-member friends. We had originally gone to see the Easter Pageant, but none of us thought about the fact that it was family night and wasn't being performed...
The rest of the pictures are from our trip to New Mexico to be with Justin's family for Easter. It was Carrie's first road trip and first time out of Arizona. Because the trip is 6 hours long and I didn't know how well Carrie would tolerate it, I sat in the backseat so I wouldn't have to reach back everytime she needed something. However, she was a breeze! She was alseep within a couple minutes of hitting the road and only woke up when I changed her diaper half way through the trip when we stopped for lunch. She ate and went right back to sleep for the rest of the way. :)

Getting hugs from cousin Logan

Pretty Easter Dress

Justin said she looks like a little Easter egg

Didn't quite catch a smile, but what a cute dress :)

Riding on Daddy's shoulders... she was happy for about two seconds

Playing with her favorite bear on the ride home

Giving bear kisses
.
As of now, Justin is still searching for a job. He applies for a couple more every day. So far all of the interviews he's had haven't been productive, but we're still crossing our fingers. I will be shadowing a nurse at a clinic tomorrow and Friday for one of my temp agency jobs. The best part is I get paid for the training! I hope they'll have work for me. I'm not excited about leaving Carrie but at least I don't have to leave her with a babysitter. She'll be with Justin, my sister, or my mom the whole time. :)

Coyotes Game!

Carrie went with us to the Phoenix Coyotes Hockey game last night. We had great seats (300 dollars worth) for FREE! Because Justin works for them he gets tickets to the games. Their season ends next week so we thought we'd better take Carrie to a free game :) Marissa came with us too. Justin's boss was working as "Howler" the mascott and we were able to snap a quick picture with him. Here are a few more pics from the game. (And by the way, PHX won!)
