Could She Get Any Cuter?

We're lounging around on this lazy Saturday morning when Carrie walked up to me and said, "Mommy do you want me to sing you 'I am a Child of God?' ".... (insert awwwwwwwe here!)

Of course I said, "Yes, I'd love to hear you sing 'I am a Child of God' for me" She then proceeded to sing the whole first verse, on key, including a few made up words that sounded mostly right (I'm sure she just sings what she hears, even if she doesn't know exactly what the words are) Last weekend I woke up to her singing it through her baby monitor to herself early in the morning. It was so wonderful.

It almost made me cry. How adorable and wonderful to have such a sweet little spirit in our home.
On a similar topic, a couple of nights ago I was reading her a bedtime story. She had chosen for me to read "Dumbo" to her. When we got to the part where Dumbo visits his mom in her 'cage' and all she can do is reach her trunk out the window to rock him and sing a lullaby to him, I wrapped my arm to around Carrie and started slowly rocking her. She reached to hold my hand, looked up at me and said, "Mommy, I'll always be your baby...."

*Tears of joy*.... Yes you will sweetie, yes you will....
