Sometimes I hate it when Justin's right. Today I'm having a love/hate fued with Justin being right. Over one particular thing... my mood and overall feeling of happiness and productivity.
As I was venting the other night about feeling groggy and like there were just too many things on my to-do list to even feel motivated to start, he said he usually feels the best and the most motivated when he just gets up and gets going.
I've been letting Carrie be my alarm clock (she usually doesn't wake up until between 8:30 and 9:00. I'm spoiled, I know). Then I've been trudging around in my jammies while I try to "prioritize" my day, which usually ends with me doing pretty much nothing all day and rushing to get ready before I have to teach piano. Carrie has started to associate me saying "We need to get dressed" with "Daddy's almost home".... It's horrible...
So Justin's suggestion was that I set an alarm before Carrie wakes up and get myself awake and going so I don't feel sluggish all morning, being completely unproductive (my words).
I tried it today. I got up alone at 7:30, got ready, made my bed, tidied up my room, and had started a load of laundry before Carrie even woke up. And you know what?.... I feel better.... So while I hate to admit that I was wrong, I'm glad I have a smart loving husband who gave such a good suggestion....

Sometimes...

I totally feel the same way. Joel is so good about being productive from the time he gets up and I can only get myself going if I start the minute my feet hit the floor in the morning. This morning was the first time in at least a week and a half that I got up, got dressed and set about cleaning up the house, but I was on fire! The whole place is so much cleaner and the dishes are done and I'm motivated to do things like vacuum the whole apartment building and wash the elevator floor. Sometimes it's a good thing I have a husband to keep me from truly going crazy.
Good job Justin, I didn't know you felt that way! That has always been my attitude. Get a head start on the day before everyone wakes up (when I had kids at home)and you feel on top of the day! I am a morning person.
