Learning to be Patient...

Patience is a hard thing to learn... As my latest example, I'm having to learn to be patient for Brigette to come. And it's not fun. At my appointment yesterday, I tried to see if they'd let me tentatively set up an induction for this coming Friday, pending the official recommendation from the specialist on Thursday afternoon. (At least I hope they'll recommend it....) But alas, they said they couldn't do that. They said if I'm before 39 weeks, the hospital makes them have the recommendation in hand in order to even schedule the induction.

The one tiny happy point was that the doctor didn't seem to be opposed to inducing me on Friday IF the specialist agrees on Thursday at my appointment. It's really hard not to get my hopes up....

A horrible downside to my appointment yesterday though, was when they checked me. Remember last Monday I was a 1/2-1. Then on Thursday, I was a 3. Happy day right?..... Not so. Yesterday I got told 1/2-1 again. When I questioned the doctor, she said, "Well, the front is dilated to about a 3, but the back is only at a 1/2 -1, and that's what really counts." Boo.... So even if the Nurse Practitioner was technically telling me the truth by saying I was a 3 last week, it "didn't count"....

I go back and forth between the attitudes of "anxious, frustrated, impatient, done", and "I give up, it's only a few more weeks, it's really not that bad". I know which attitude Justin prefers for sure ;) I'm driving him crazy by driving myself crazy about still being pregnant.

And honestly, I don't mind being pregnant, it's just that when I'm this close to the end... I'm done. I'm ready. To make it worse, I feel like 20 people I know, have had their babies in the last couple of weeks. While I'm still waiting.... And learning to be patient.

*I know the last few posts have been more or less boring, plain old text, and a lot of complaining. I'll try to make the next one stray off my most recent topic and have cute pictures or something!*

Its funny because I have known quite a few people who have had babies the last few weeks as well! The crazy thing is 3 of the people I know babies have had to go into the NICU for an extended period of time... 3 in last month! Keep her cookin as long as you can!! I'm sure you want to make sure she is 100% ready to be here! I'm sure its horrible to be this pregnant during the middle of summer. I hated the end of my pregnancies and it was winter both times! Good Luck when she comes. I'm sure you are all excited for her to be here

Never fear, I actually enjoy hearing your complaints. It makes me feel less terrible about thinking, and saying, all the same things.
